Meet Lang Lang during the Music Festival in Beijijng!

Experience LANG LANG in Beijing!
Lang Lang fans watch out! The registration for the second Lang Lang fan journey runs! You are travelling to Olympic city Beijing to Beijing Music festival 2007. There you visit three first-class Lang Lang concerts and become acquainted with the city and its inhabitants intensively. During a short roundtrip you discover the famous Terracotta Army in the imperial city Xi’an, as well as the megametropolis Shanghai. A personal meeting with Lang Lang for a photo shooting is also included in the program.

In the morning arrival in Beijing. At the airport our guide is expecting you for the hotel transfer. You already experience the first highlight of your journey in the afternoon. You are going to visit Summer Palace, the park of the emperors, where you spend a restful afternoon. In the evening you get a first impression of the specialities of the Chinese cuisine when eating a Beijing duck prepared by master hand. (LD)

In the morning you walk across Tiananmen Square to Forbidden City, the former residence of the emperors and their royal household. You are visiting the magnificent grounds before continuing at noon time to another imposing piece of imperial architecture: the Temple of Heaven. In the evening you enjoy the first concert. Daniel Barenboim and Lang Lang play together with the State Orchestra of Berlin the piano concert No. 5 of Beethoven. (BL)

Today you make a trip into the Fragrant Hills. This recreation area outside of Beijing is particularly beautiful in the autumn, since the trees are covered by a deep red then. You visit the monastery Biyun Si which is located fantastically calmly on the hillside. With the aerial ropeway you go to the top of the mountain. From there you have a stunning view over Beijing. In the evening you visit again Beijing Music festival: Daniel Barenboim and Lang Lang play the piano concert No. 1 of Brahms together with the State Orchestra of Berlin. (BL)

Today you drive outside to probably the most famous building of China. You walk over the Great Wall at the very beautiful part of Mutianyu. On the way back you visit the Ming tombs and the great Spirit Avenue. In the evening you experience the classical Chinese music. You visit a show of the traditional Beijing opera. (BL)

Transfer to the airport in the morning and flight to Xi' an. During the city tour you stroll around the old part of the town and the Moslem quarter as well as over the historical town wall. Furthermore you see the bell tower, the mosque and the famous Forest of Steles in the former Temple of Confucius. (BL)

You visit the world-famous Terracotta Army. Thousands life-size soldiers and horses made of terracotta once set up here to protect the grave of the first emperor. On the way back you visit the Big Goose Pagoda before you are brought to the airport for your flight to Shanghai. After arrival there you take the Transrapid to the city and then transfer to your hotel. (BL)

In the morning you experience the traditional Shanghai. You visit the old town and Yu Garden, a masterpiece of classical horticulture. Moreover you discover the Jade buddha Temple, an oasis of peace in the middle of the city. During a walk over the promenade “The Bund” you experience „the colonial“ Shanghai. You visit the town planning museum in the afternoon. There you get an impression of the rapid development of the city in the last years and how it could continue in the next years. (BL)

Today you go by train to garden city Suzhou which is famous for its traditional gardens. The old town has numerous of small rivers and channels which you can enjoy during a romantic boat ride. In the afternoon you visit a silk spinning mill. The silk materials from Suzhou are famous in entire China because of its quality. (BL)

Transfer to the airport in the morning and flight back to Beijing. This day is at your free disposal. Take your time for last purchases or make a walk through the traditional Hutong quarters around the Houhai lakes. In the evening a visit of a further concert of the Beijing Music Festival gives your journey a last highlight: Yu Long and Lang Lang play the Yellow River piano concert and the piano concert No. 2 of Rachmaninoff together with the China Philharmonic Orchestra.
